unfortunately so i'm he here doing the weather for tucker barnes. we've got a little isolated shower here and there out there right now. we'll take a look at our fox 5 accu-weather live radar and show you exactly who in our neighborhood is seeing a little bit of it and it is really just to the south of front royal area. some of it just very light in nature. there is a couple of areas that were just a little heavier. you can see here just where the yellow and red is but generally, we are not talking by washouts today but this morning, there is a chance that we could see a pop-up shower as we're already seeing in some of our neighborhoods. just be prepared. a little about the here in southern loudoun county as well. could see a little bit later on this evening as well but just a 20% chance of that happening. let's go to the maps. it was a pretty hot day yesterday. 90degrees. 91 at dulles and bwi thurgood marshall. we are starting out mild and warm this morning. 75 at baltimore. 79 at annapolis. 75 at dulles. we are talking about a system that will move its way through. we have an upper leve

, you have not seen the new intro. it is the segment where tucker barnes and i typically put our big heads together to answer your most pressing questions. tucker is off. gwen is our guest answerer. in extreme heat or cold conditions, why is it sometimes said that, for example, it is a hundred degree but it field like 105 or it is 25 degrees but it feels like 20? does the human body recognize the difference? good question, katherine. well, in the example, do you recognize the difference between 100 and 105? not so much. typically, if we are saying that type of thing, it is because there are other smiewns on the temperature behides just the temperature itself. -- there are other influences on the temperature besides just the temperature itself. when we give the heat index, we are talking about not just the air temperature and the level of humidity and how that feels to you. it will make it -- the old saying, or the joke is you're in las vegas or some places like that. it is 105 degrees. a dry heat. 105 in the desert feels better than say 93 degrees here. when it comes to cold, we'll s

is in for tucker barnes in the weather center. >> the only weather instrument i'm playing is this my clicker and radar. we talked about rain earlier and there was a severe thunderstorm warning in effect. it's still in effect until 9:15 and that's for the city of fredericksburg, stafford and spotsylvania counties. storms moving there east at about 15 miles an hour. you can see there on our fox 5 live accuweather radar. flash flood warning in effect until 11:15 for the same area. the storms have a history of large hail and damaging winds and already they have said they have gotten 2" of rain so if you are heading out be aware and watch yourself on the roads. as we look we are talking about temperatures into the 90s today once again, currently it is 78 degrees right now at reagan national airport. we have 80 already at annapolis. 76 degrees at bwi thurgood marshall, 74 to the south in fredericksburg. so a hot, sticky day today. i can't rule out showers or isolated thunderstorms popping up throughout the course of the morning because that system is actually continuing to push that wet weather a

in for tucker barnes and she has the latest on our sticky forecast for today. >> that's what it is. it's going to be hot and sticky. yesterday we hit a high of 90. we have a repeat performance for everybody today. so be prepared. also, some wet weather to talk about. let's take a look at our accuweather fox 5 radar and show you what's going on. i mentioned earlier that there were quite a few heavy showers and lightning in it to areas west near front royal and that watch box popped up fairly quickly. it's a severe thunderstorm warning for culpeper, spotsylvania and stafford counties until 8:30 this morning. so that's a severe thunderstorm warning and you can see the lightning there pretty intense. some of that rainfall through the area is heavy at times as well so do be careful driving through there this morning or heading anywhere. some of that starting to gradually move through to the east so we are keeping a close eye on it. we can't rule out a chance of showers over the course of this morning. as we look at our temperatures, a warm start to your day, folks. 78 at reagan national. 57 at dwi
